"The best thing about ballet is, that you get to be exactly who you are"

Common for all of the girls is, that they are all into ballet. Their spare time is spent dancing ballet in the living room and coming up with routines of their own. And they are getting healthier every day for it. As one girl said: “My physical health has improved because of ballet. You need to have a fit body to be able to do all the movements in ballet. That is why I care about eating nutritiously.” Also they are all talking about how they get to work with every muscle group as well as the flexibility and posture they are gaining in general.

Of course it does not come easy for all of the girls. It is hard work. For one girl especially it has been a real lesson in perseverance: “It teaches us that when you want it, you work for it. Never say, ‘I can’t do this.’ Instead simply try!” She repeats that to herself no matter what is asked of her in school or at home. For another girl her lesson in life has been all about patience. It takes patience to get the steps completely right. Through the years that lesson has helped her have patience with everything else she does - and even have patience with her sisters, she says.

What really drives them though, is the fun of it; the break in life where there is room for nothing in your mind but ballet; and the feeling of freedom and life when your body awakens with the music.
